The protection of your personal data is very important to us. The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU) attaches great importance to protecting the privacy of the users of its website. The BOKU processes data exclusively in the sense of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Therefore, we will inform you below what data we collect when you visit our website and for what we process and use them.

This privacy policy informs you about which personal data is collected during a visit of the INTRINSIC website (and its sub-websites) or when retrieving the content provided under the domain "intrinsic.eu", "intrinsic.boku.ac.at" and "intrinsic.boku.ac.at/ce"and for what purpose the BOKU processes this data or how the BOKU deals with this data.

The privacy policy applies to those areas of the INTRINSIC website whose content is publicly accessible, that is, without prior registration (hereinafter referred to as the "publicly accessible INTRINSIC website").

INTRINSIC also operates web services that can only be used after registration and / or login. This concerns in particular the registration for the Connected Educator Platform, for the Newsletter and the Sustainable Entreprneurship Educator App. These services collect and process other personal data (such as name, Insitution, email-adress) in order to provide the relevant services. Further information will be provided by these respective services.

Collection and use of personal data
Data collected when you visit the website 

When the publicly accessible INTRINSIC website is accessed, the data that is automatically transmitted when the website is used is collected. 

The website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. For this purpose, cookies are used that allow an analysis of the use of the website by your users. The information generated thereby is transmitted to the server of the provider and stored there. You can prevent this by setting up your browser so that no cookies are stored. Your IP address is recorded but immediately pseudonymized. As a result, only a rough localization is possible.

INTRINSIC processes this information for the purpose of creating anonymous usage statistics over the course of the ERASMUS+ project INTRINSIC and ensuring the proper operation and monitoring of the website's performance. The log files are stored for the whole project period until 31.08.2021.

Cookies

The INTRINSIC website uses so-called cookies. These are small data units which are stored on the user's end device when visiting the INTRINSIC website.
This allows the site to remember certain inputs and settings (e.g., login) over a period of time while the cookie is stored. Please note that no personal information is stored within the cookies used in Mahara. The cookies are set in accordance with EU and Austrian law (Art. 5 (3) E-Privacy Directive and Art. 96 (3) TKG 2003). In particular, the INTRINSIC website uses cookies to customize the appearance of the website to authenticated users and to make the use of the website as convenient as possible. Cookies can be deleted at any time via corresponding settings of the web browser. Furthermore, cookies can generally be deactivated via the respective browser settings, although in some cases this may lead to restrictions on the use of the BOKU website. Do-Not-Track requirements are respected.

Web analytics
On the INTRINSIC websites, the web analysis tool Google Analytics is used to collect and store data based on our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behavior for optimization purposes pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. From this data, pseudonymised usage profiles can be created and evaluated for the same purpose. For this purpose, cookies are also used, which allow an analysis of the use of the website. The usage information generated by cookies (including your pseudonymized IP address) is transmitted to Google Analytics and stored for usage analysis purposes, which serves to optimize our website. The data collected with the Google Analytics are stored at the server of the provider. The information generated by the cookie in the pseudonymous user profile will not be used to personally identify the visitor to this web site and will not be merged with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.

Social media buttons

INTRINSIC has social media buttons (Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter), that lead you to the social media channel of INTRINSIC. We do not use social media buttons for directly sharing our content.

Use of data based on consent

Insofar as BOKU processes data on the basis of a consent,  BOKU will inform the affected parties in advance separately and obtain their consent. In any case, the persons concerned have the right to revoke the given consent at any time. The revocation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation.

Transfer of collected data

A transfer of the personal data collected on the publicly accessible INTRINSIC website by the BOKU to third parties does not take place unless otherwise required by law.

Right for information, correction, deletion or restriction, right of appeal and possibility of complaint to the Data Protection Authority

Users may at any time in accordance with the statutory data protection provisions, in particular Articles 15 to 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), request information about personal data concerning them, as well as correct incorrect data or delete or require the restriction of processing or the disagree to the use of their data.

Links

The website may contain links to other websites. These references to websites of other Internet users are provided as a service to cover a wider information needs of the accessing. The BOKU has no influence on their content. BOKU assumes no liability for this content. The content and accuracy of the information provided there is the sole responsibility of the respective provider of the linked website.

Data security

BOKU will take appropriate and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect users' data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, and unauthorized access.
